Whenever I publish a post, I feel as if I were pulling a Beyoncé, since out of nowhere, BAM I'm dropping a new blog entry on y'all. But soon after that, I regain (most) senses and think 'haha, oh yeah, which audience was waiting on my sorry but fine piece of ass?'.
Today, kids, we will take a closer look at my favourite holiday, indicated by the jolly title:
CHRISTMAS SEASON AND DECEMBER!
Argue all you want, from September on it's Winter Time! (See the captions? Feel the captions.)
I don't care if it's burning outside, I WILL spend my day wearing a snuggly albeit hot wintery pullover, so testing my patience will benefit neither party.
The reason I love Christmas is because I was born on the 6th of December, St. Nicholas' Day!
This means that December is the month I not only get once, not twice, not thrice, but four times as many presents as usual. Because I'm an only child. And I'm spoiled rotten. Moving on.
I assure you that no, this is not an attempt to remind my friends of wishing me well on time, not at all, you should already know this by heart >:)
This year's plan is to celebrate it with a handful of close friends in a Lasertag arena. This is pretty exciting and I'm totally looking forward to shooting all of them I LOVE YOU GUYS!
For those who don't know about Lasertag, it's only the second most fun real life teenager/adult game after Paintball (which is on the list for next year's activities)!
So imagine this, 17th birthday in a Hunger Games' like arena. How did I celebrate my 16th though?
In Japan with my darling host family(≧∇≦)
Let me tell you how it all went down: I woke up at half past seven as per usual, went down to see my mom making the best birthday breakfast in the world! She then proceeded to inform me that close friends of my dad's would kidnap me later for a dinner! I was so happy, I almost cried.
When I arrived in school, my two best friends were waiting and yelling at me to move my ass into the room in order to receive some gifts!

During the school day my two other close exchange student friends forced upon me a big bag full of Japanese sweets and candy, while my Italian soon-to-be cook cut the Nutella cake she baked me. Listen carefully. Nutella cake. Again. Nutella. Cake. I swear to God if Japan doesn't reduce the cost of Nutella, when I go back I'm gonna start a cheap importing business. And sell the God's ambrosia on the black market. Does Japan even have a black market?
The evening, like, unf,, the meal was freaking delicious, I received so many cute and typical Japanese presents, this time I DID start to /cry.
But the highlight was quite a different event. It happened to be in form of a German christmas market in Hakata, my cities' biggest railway station. We embarked on the journey there and it was splendid, I felt just like at home again! We went around and around the many colorful glittering stands, looked at hand-carved wood ornaments, the different candies, whule the musicians were playing christmassy songs and just enjoyed the winter feeling and the fantastic atmosphere.

I stopped at many shops and started conversations with the owners, because I was so surprised to see this much of Germany in Japan! I received small little gifts after I told them of my birthday, one super friendly guy even bought me a cup of Glühwein, which I got to keep and use today as a pencil holder, and thanks to these people, they made me never forget my sweet sixteen. It wasn't as special as everyone says, it wasn't as life changing as I expected, but the fact that I got to celebrate it in the land of my dreams with the people I cherish so dearly made my 16th birthday special itself.
Then my mom dropped the bomb that she bought me a ticket not only to the Big Bang concert the following day, but also plane tickets to Disneyland over Christmas.
Best. Birthday. Ever.
